1. Alabama 8-0 The Tide dispelled any notion that an undefeated Mississippi St. could challenge them, and hope to do the same this week in yet another big LSU showdown.
2. Oregon 8-0 The Ducks just keep rolling, this time putting up 56 first half points on Colorado, and face USC this week in a possibly season-defining game.
3. Kansas St. 8-0 K-State dismantled upset minded Texas Tech, and will hope to do the same against the sneakily good Ok-State Cowboys.
4. Notre Dame 8-0 The Irish passed their biggest test of the year against the Sooners, leaving USC as the only real obstacle to an undefeated regular season.
5. Georgia 7-1 Shocked the Gators in a huge rivalry game, placing themselves right in the thick of all the title talk.
6. Florida 7-1 Both their SEC and National title hopes took a major hit after playing a sloppy game when it mattered most.
7. LSU 7-1 Will have a huge chance to put themselves in championship position against the Tide this week, but will need a near perfect game to do so.
8. Ohio St. 9-0 Still not bowl eligible
9. Florida St. 8-1 Gave Duke a serious reality check by walloping them, and continue to slowly climb back up the rankings.
10. Clemson 7-1 The Tigers keep marching toward a showdown with South Carolina with big at-large BCS implications.
11. South Carolina 7-2 (see above) Barely held off Tyler Bray and the Vols to end their skid. The Cocks get a much needed bye to regroup.
12. Oregon St. 6-1 Suffered an inexplicable loss at the hands of Washington to put any Championship aspirations to rest.
13. Louisville 8-0 Teddy and the gang did just enough to remain the last undefeated team in the Big East by beating Cincy in OT.
14. Texas A&M 6-2 Demolished Auburn to set up two very important games starting this week at Mississippi St.
15. Oklahoma 5-2 Fell apart in the fourth quarter against Notre Dame, and their BCS chances took a big hit.
16. Stanford 6-2 Managed to (barely) avoid the week's Pac-12 upset bug, and after a walkthrough against Colorado, face two very important games.
17. USC 6-2 Fell right out of the Championship conversation and took a bit of luster out of this week's matchup with Oregon with an upset loss against Arizona.
18. Mississippi St. 7-1 The Bulldogs have been a good story, but do not belong in the elite after that showing against Bama.
19. Texas Tech 6-2 Those who thought Tech could challenge K-State (including myself) were sorely mistaken. BCS hopes: gone.
20. Boise St. 7-1 They keep doing what they do, and that is win football games. Unfortunately not against anyone that is all that good.
21. Toledo 8-1 After knocking off undefeated Cincy last week, then moving to 8-1 this week, the Rockets deserve a spot in the rankings.
22. Kent St. 7-1 Much like Toledo, Kent St. deserves this spot after taking down undefeated Rutgers this week.
23. Louisiana Tech 7-1 When a team's only loss is a 3 point contest against A&M, they're doing something right.
24. Nebraska 6-2 Beat a partially Denard-less Michigan team to claim the front seat in the Rose Bowl race, and the only eligible Big Ten spot in the rankings.
25. Northern Illinois 8-1 In my rankings: MAC-3 teams, B1G-1.5 (OSU), Big East-1. MAC power! I still think the Huskies are the MAC's best team, and they get a chance to prove it in the coming weeks.
Others receiving votes: None. I am the only voter.
Stay tuned for this week's predictions!
I want to have babies with you.
